IPL Final:Deccan Vs Royal Challengers. Poetic Justice for laggards of 2008?
Deccan chargers and Royal challengers are in final of IPL 2009. It’s been a success story of last year’s bottom placed teams. Deccan won their first 4 matches and Royals have won their last five.
Last year they could not win more than four matches whole tourney. Talk about turn around. Nothing could have been bigger and dramatic than these two being in Final.
Best thing about this edition, was most of the teams were well balanced. Learning from last year. They were close too. Except Delhi, which was little stronger than others. Kolkata turned out to be insipid.
I like the look of balanced and disciplined Royals. Kumble has been on button every time. He outfoxed Dhoni in this match. Made the changes quickly and intelligently. Strangled the run making.
Manish Pandey has been a find and at what time? Rahul is getting into his groove. Taylor and Virat are finishing the matches with newfound dynamism. Boucher and Uthappa can add the needed thrust at end.
Deccan has four blasters. Gilchrist, Gibbs, Symonds and Rohit Sharma. Can any one pull it off singlehandedly? They can on their day. Just like Gilchrist did to Delhi. But their bowling heavily depends on RP Singh and Ojha.
Royals will win with a ball or two to spare or by 5-10 runs.
