IPL-II: Better teams surge ahead towards Semifinal
Up until last 2-3 days IPL-II had no favorites, no clear leaders. Suddenly things have changed. Few teams have played big moments well and have surged ahead. Others have faltered to move down the table.
Now there is a clear divide. There is mountain or two to climb for Royal challengers, Mumbai Indians and Kings XI. Knight Riders have screwed themselves so badly with Buchanan; they will take another edition or two to recover.
If kings XI lose their match today, they almost are unlikely to make it to semis. Mumbai Indians, well balanced they are but points table shows up different thing. Royal Challengers will have to play out of their skins to reach semis.
Daredevils, Chennai Kings and Rajasthan Royals are the ones who made it to semis last year. So though for the first half of the IPL-II it looked like there is not too much gap between teams, it’s showing up now.
Today’s match between Chennai Kings and Rajasthan Royals should be a thriller. Whoever wins goes to top of the table. Deccan Chargers if they win will go to top of table till the other match gets over.
Deccan Chargers have moved to the top, Knight Riders to bottom. Royal Challengers remain challengers, nothing more.
