Semifinal Spots up for grab
With 7 teams separated by single point, semifinal spots are up for grab. No one would have thought such a scenario when the IPL-II got kicked off. Had Knight Riders been able to close out couple of games, things would have been even interesting.
Buchanan says no one in the team has given up. Owner has. The only role Knight Riders have left is to upset few teams in the remaining games and be a spoilsport for them. At least you can count on them to do it.
Royal Challengers are at joint top having won last 3. They have played 8 games. DareDevils and Deccan Chargers have played only 6 games. Kings XI is also well placed with only 7 games.
Chennai Kings, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals occupy 5-7 spots. They all have played 7 games, won 3 and lost 3 and 1 no result.
Any team, which could string together 3-4 wins at a stretch, would easily qualify for Semis. Royal Challengers have suddenly come into contention with 3 successive wins. Reverse also holds good. If you lose 2-3 matches on trot, you might be competing with Knight Riders
I still think Deccan Chargers, DareDevils and Kings XI are the ones who should qualify for Semis. The other spot is up for teams to grab.
Its getting interesting with each game. Good thing about this edition is most of the games are going to wire. Many have gone to last ball. It’s great for spectators. Close games make it thrilling and gets everyone involved.
Who you think will make it to Semifinals?
