I just get the feeling that Ravi Shastri should stop commenting
Ravi Shastri as a commenter surpasses Ravi Shastri as a cricketer. Not in terms of achievement but in terms of years done and money earned. Any tournament involving India involves Ravi Shastri.
Though Ravi has a good voice and gets that excitement into the game he is really boring. He uses far too many cliches. For a commentator his vocabulary is very limited.
You might wanna give me the he is commenting for the masses rhetoric. When it comes to commenting that doesn’t hold good. You do your best, you try to improvise. You read stuff. You pick stuff from your reading and try to use it the next day.
Shastri picked up a word cocker somewhere and used it for the whole 20 minutes yesterday a spinner was bowling. He only commented for 20 minutes and used the phrase “I just get the feeling” more than 10 times. That is a good indication that he should retire from active commenting.
PS : In defense of Shastri he should be around until these folks stop commenting. Ranjit Fernando, L Sivaramakrishnan and Sunil Gavascar respectively in that order.
