After Warne, now Ali Bacher wants a Window for IPL:

Former South African cricket board chief Ali Bacher insists ICC to create a permanent window for the Indian Premier League. Calling it as the number one cricketing event in the world.

"I have never seen a sport that has been so extensively marketed. I would like to congratulate the Indian Premier League for doing so well even when they had such little time to organize the event here in South Africa. When Cricket South Africa hosted ICC World Cup in 2003, I took two-and-a-half years to organize the tournament, what the IPL has done is commendable,"

But when you have thousands of crores of money involved, people are ready to move mountains. Scheduling or managing the move from India to South Africa was big deal but money does help.

South African government and cricket board were ready to do whatever it takes to get this done, which made the whole job lot simpler.

Bacher wants it to be held in India. No other country is as crazy about cricket as India. It ensures packed stadiums, great atmosphere and the celebration of cricket in its bold and gaudy form.
