Mumbai Indians do everything needed to lose the match !

As I write this, Mumbai Indians are doing everything to lose the match. Chasing 120 odd runs should have been a cakewalk. Cricket has thrown us bigger surprises than this. It still is a tight match.

How cool head gets you the job done. If Kings XI wins this match which looks like it, all credit should go to Sangakkara for the composed batting he showed in bowler friendly pitch and got his team to 120 plus score.

Teams have defended similar scores in a 50 over match. So game was on! Once Jayasuriya and Sachin got out, it was in favor of Kings XI.

No one batted sensibly. There is uncalled urgency in twenty20 that has bitten everyone. People get to a state of mind that if they don;t score of one ball, they get frustrated.

I am trying to post what I see on TV.

Its 12 needed of last over. Will they do it? I don’t think so. You never know. First ball six would change everything.

I see a tensed Priety Zinta holding her breath and cheering her team. Mrs Ambani has wry smile on her face, expressing how did we get here. It’s funny to watch these matches.

First ball MI scores 2 runs. Sreesanth has stopped dancing

Second ball is a dot ball. A huge swipe and a huge miss.

Third ball is a wide. Drags it too wide. Could have been a wide in tests too.

Third ball, two runs towards midwicket.  7 of 3 balls now.

Fourth ball. Out, caught on the edge of the rope. Calm composed catch, Duminy goes and so does Mumbai Indians Hopes. How thin is the line between success and failure. Had that been a 2 feet further Duminy would have been a hero.

Fifth ball.  6 needed of 2. Single well fielded at covers.

Last ball. 5 of 1, can someone do a Miandad? Priety is still huffing and puffing. Mrs Ambani has given up her hopes. It’s a single of the last ball to covers.

Kings XI Punjab has won it by 3.
