Weather tilted scales towards South Africa: Really?
It was the reason for choosing South Africa over England. How flat that reason has fallen? If we lose the Royals and Knight Riders for rain that would be 3rd match to be ruined due to rain. As of now, we have a full game, but showers are expected.
Think twice about choosing one country over other due to weather. Whatever the sophistication of the weather forecasting tools, nature has its strange ways of making mockery of humans.
Real reasons of choosing South Africa were not weather. Modi is not someone who forgets or forgives. England board had not agreed for the participation of the England players in the first edition of IPL. They were planning on having their own twenty20 league called EPL directly competing with IPL.
We know how ruthless IPL organizers and BCCI can get, England should have been even happy that they were even considered. It might have happened due to pressure from the franchise owners to make money out of Indian contingent based in England.
Now, weather is playing a spoilsport and throwing the IPL games out of gear. Interesting would be IPL commissioner response to act against weather washing out more matches. Expect anything from this maverick. He wants something; he would go any length to get it.
Weather gods; please stop making mockery of Lalit Modi and his stupid reasons.
