Is Vettori the best spinner in world?
Kings XI Punjab had raced to 67 in just six overs. Daniel Vettori’s choose to make his presence felt. He took a catch of Goel who was going great guns. In the next 4 dismissals he had a vital role to play and closed the lid on Kings XI Punjab.
He prised out Bopara, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene in space of 3 overs. Ran Yuvraj Singh out. He finished with three for 15 from 3 overs.
It led Virender Sehwag to say:
"At the moment Daniel (Vettori) is the best spinner in the world,"
"The Kings XI Punjab were going great guns when I asked Danny (Daniel Vettori) to bowl and thanks to him we were successful in getting the crucial wickets,"
Sehwag added that the left-arm spinner has the ability to bowl well on any all sort of wickets.
Harbhajan Singh, are you listening to your mate’s comments? I hope he does not slap Sehwag for saying this. Last time they did not play each other. May be Sehwag knows a thing or two about Indian spinner than we do.
The control, guile, subtle changes in flight and pace makes Vettori the best bowler in shorter versions of the game. He has not been able to convert shorter version successes into success in test cricket and become great spinner.
He is still an average test bowler but a great ODI and T-20 bowler. That’s what Sehwag might have meant in the end.
