Stuart Broad is MVP of England !

England-v-New-Zealand-2nd-ODI-Stuart-Broad-ce_960478 Move away Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff ! You might have earned mega bucks, but really are not the best or most important member of the England squad in 2008-09

England paceman Stuart Broad has pipped former skipper Kevin Pietersen to become country’s most valuable player for the 2008-09 season.

Broad bagged 64 wickets and scored 464 runs to secure 388 most valuable player points, eight ahead of Pietersen according to Professional Cricketers’ Association statistics.

Stuart Broad has displayed maturity beyond his years. Couple of spells on dead tracks in West Indies impressed everyone. On tracks designed to break  bowler’s heart, he showed excellent stamina, spirit and purpose by running in over after over.

Its the same Stuart Broad that Yuvraj Singh hit for 6 sixes in an over in Twenty20 world-cup in South Africa. How well he has learnt from it to reach this stage from that horrible episode !

Broad, who came first in the ODI most valuable player category, third in the Twenty20 version and fourth in the Test match category, played 35 matches and was the second most capped player this year behind Pietersen.
