Round one for Sourav !
Sourav Ganguly has been retained as the sole skipper of KKR. Brendon McCullum will be the deputy captain. They plan to evaluate his performances over few games and then might decide the course of action.
Shah Rukh Khan has vehemently denied the rumors that were doing rounds about multiple captains for KKR.
“Let me tell you, there is no Kolkata Knight Riders without Dada. We love him. We are a team and no decision is taken by one person. Twenty20 is a new format and new things are being tried. Too much has been said, we are not having four captains in one match. It’s going to be one captain in one match”
He did not deny the experiment of different captains.
All this means round one of the battle goes to Sourav. It is not outright victory but a significant small battle won.
