IPL moves out of India. Its confirmed. Where? we would know tomorrow. Lalit Modi says all other cricket boards have invited them. Who will not want to rake in money and be in good books of BCCI?England and SA in 2 boards in contention
I have serious doubts on edition succeeding. There were lingering doubts that IPL is getting boring near the fag end of the first edition. Now with different time zones it might be little hard to follow up or even better.
England and South Africa are two top boards in contention. Holding in either country makes sense. Time zones fit perfectly to ensure that Indian fans can catch whole of the action. If its day light then it might be little late, but it works.
when it moves out, will you follow with the same passion? Will you still root for your hometown team? Which is not playing any matches in your hometown at all? Will any relevance still remain if the matches are held in South Africa or England or any other country?
I just hope enthusiasm remains. Few days back Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan who was part of ICL, had stated that T-20 will fade away.

Yes there is huge luck involved. I still don’t agree with him. If it was so, no one would be playing poker?
There has to be a way to sustain IPL and make it truly international ! All international boards should agree to free up a slot for making IPL happen. IPL might want increase number of foreign players who can play to 5 per team. Ensure players from all country get a decent chance of playing here. Only then this will go from strength to strength.
Keen to see how things unfold from now on ! Interesting times for IPL and its organizers.
PS: Mumbai Indians had actually planned to have a training session under mentor Shaun Pollok and Jhonty Rhodes. Did they have insider information ?

England got to host 20 20 world cup. I dont think they are going to accept IPL. SA may take with both hands.
