Sreesanth with the Purple Cap, What a shame!

Santakumaran Sreesanth with 15 wickets is the proud owner of the purple cap. This happened after the match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. He has bowled some terrific spells by keeping both his opponents and his emotions in check. He has bowled 235 balls and conceded 329 runs. His best bowling figures are 3/29.

If you look at Sreesanth before the Bhajji slap incident and after the slap incident there is a huge difference. His sole concentration is on his bowling. He does not look at the batsman after bowling. He is disappointed with himself if he is hit for a four. Other than anything else he keeps his mouth shut. He also started praising his opponents. He said it is an honour to bowl against Sachin Paaji. Sreesanth is a changed man.

The disappointing part is, this has come at the expense of a prolific bowler like Harbhajan Singh who can bat too. Sreesanth has continuously sledged his opponents with abusive language. He had some filthy abuses at almost every opponent he played with. When it came to the Harbhajan episode he said something about being a loser at home. He is not a saint to just say “Tough Luck”. He got away because there was no microphone to pick his abuses. I am not saying what Harbhajan did was right. What I am saying is, it is too big punishment for Harbhajan and none for Sreesanth.

How would Harbhajan feel now, looking at Sreesanth in a purple cap? That cap would have easily adorned Harbhajan.

The purple cap should also take care of other factors like the player’s behavior, the respect he has for opponents and also opponents respect for him.

At the moment, Sreesanth is a disgrace to the purple cap. It is upto the Sohail Tanvir to make sure it does not stay with Sreesant any longer.

This article has vindictive tone. Instead of commending Sreesanths performance you seem to be hell bent upon tarnishing him and paint a saintly picture to Harbajan. I think you over did it. Dont assume that Harbajan would have got the puple cap..there ar 100s of outstanding bowlers out there competing…SHAME ON YOUUUUUU

Shibaji, If it was performance alone which should be measured, yes Sreesanth did a splendid job. In fact my first two paragraph’s deal with what Sreesanth has done and how he has changed. It is also important to look at how the change has come and at what expense. I also mentioned that I am not supporting what Bhajji did. If it wasn’t for Bhajji episode Sreesanth would have continued in the same manner.

Bottom line is Sreesanth achieved glory too soon, after abusing opponents and crying like a baby on the field.

What a crap article this is.
damn sure that he is a blood relative of bhaji and much frustated of him losing his IPL money. Only such a person can narrate like this. Bhaji is already a burden to team india and he seldom performs. We hav got quality spinner like piyush, ramesh pawar etc. Bhaji is such a waste and any kid can hit his balls. It is true that sree is bit aggressive and it helped india to grab first world cup twenty-20 cup. dun forget that. he thrashed australia in semi-final. Sreesanth is the only pace bowler india have now and he is performing consistently. Had punjab1X fielded well, he cud hav got atleast 8 more wickets.

PLEASE REMOVE THIS CRAP ARTICLE AT THE EARLIEST !!!!

Your Love for Bhaji is acknowledged !!!! What a crap? He should remember that Sreesanth was a part of almost aal the recent sucesses the Indian Team both at home and abroad. He is more like the modern youth of India or what we like them to be. Mind you that there are millions of people who enjoys his cricket. After incidents like this anyone would do some soul searching and would make adjustments in order to avoid such acrimony in future. This change of attitude should augur well for Sreesanth in his career. As for Bhaji you just have to look at Mumbai Indians after Bhaji’s exit. How releived they look these days and are playing some good cricket too.
