Random dope tests for IPL
Says Lalit Modi. They will conduct dope tests on players randomly. This move comes after a rumour that Shoaib Akthar was carry three dozen syringes in his bag. Security personnel at the airport who were screening him found them. Akthar dismissed the syringes saying that he is diabetic and he has to use that. This is the first time this has come out that Shoaib has diabetes. Also, Pakistan cricket board are supporting Akthar and dismissing the incident as a non-issue and the syringes were empty. It would be interesting to see if they test Akthar in this random testing of Modi. Instead of going too far to test the doping why cannot they check his bowling action with a naked eye. It is really suspicious and almost looks like a throw. Akthar was tested positive for a banned drug in 2006.
Shah Rukh wants to sue Pakistan daily for reporting this baseless rumour. Maybe, he needs to check Shoaib’s bag before doing it because Shoaib is not a holy cow.
