Charu Sharma was fired because of Misbah?
That is what the Pakistani newspaper “The Jang” reported. This sounds really ridiculous for two reasons.
- Misbah-ul-Haq is a few matches wonder and have not yet established as a match winner to carry any credibility and to influence any decisions in the team.
- If at all anyone can influence the team decisions it will be Rahul Dravid. Also, there is a cap on foreign players in any given match. Considering these not selecting Misbah is the right choice. Besides he did not perform for the matches he was picked up.
Now that we are allergic to bullshit, lets talk about what might have happened.
- The only way this newspaper might have gotten this news is if and only if Misbah spoke with them, like Sreesanth spoke with asianet. In this case he should be suspended for speaking to the media and spreading rumors. This is a speculation.
- If this newspaper has done this to gain popularity then it should publicly apologize to Charu Sharma and the stop covering IPL.
Come to think of it IPL never ceases to amaze me and is never short of a controversy, if not two. This will be a welcome addtion to my post of IPL Hall of shame.
