2 surprises in a day
That is Super Kings and Knight Riders winning their respective matches. I have almost written both the teams off and they managed to bounce back. The only thing which needs to be checked is if that bounce back is sustainable. That leaves the tournament wide open. There are no clear favorites. Though I have made some predictions, I might be proven wrong by some spirited performances. I was particularly impressed with Knight Riders behavior on the field. The ferocity they showed on the field is incredible. Fielding is at its best. Once again they looked like champions. Again, we just have to wait and see if this is sustainable.
The points table makes an interesting reading. This tournament is very wide open and the key thing is the net run rate. Many teams were neglecting it and taking their time to reach the target. Mumbai Indians in their match against Rajastan Royals were taking their time to reach the target. This might prove them very costly in the end as it all boils down to net run rate. It can be as close as a 6-way tie for the semi-final slots. That is when big wins matter.
